Meet your PTA:

President: Keefe Hogan:

A lifelong Marylander, Keefe Hogan and his family moved to Ellicott City 3 years ago, where he quickly became active with the PTA. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Economics, and earned his Masters Degree in Human Resources Development from Towson. His professional career gauged from developing and delivering technical training for the telecom industry and Federal Government, instilling change management and organizational development skills during the formation of DHS, and being a Director of Business Development for a consulting firm. He also served in the U.S. Army Special Operations Command from 2002 to 2010. This is his second year as PTA President at Hollifield Station, and his first year as Vice President of Issues for the PTA Council of Howard County, with both positions allowing him to follow his passion for advocating for children. He also teaches religious education at his church, and assists with his children’s various activities and sports. He and his wife, Heather, are the proud parents of Layla in third grade, and Aiden in 6th grade.

2nd Vice President: Anne Kalis

AnnieKalis

Annie Kalis is the 2nd VP and Assemblies Chair for the PTA.  She has been involved at Hollifield Station since 2009 and also works as a part-time substitute teacher for Howard County Public Schools.  Annie and her husband Kevin are parents to three amazing Hollifield Station students: Maggie grade 5, Molly grade 4, and Ben grade 2.  She grew up in Ellicott City and attended Mt. Hebron High School and then Mount St. Mary’s University where she earned her degree in Business with concentrations in Economics and International Business.  After college Annie worked as a Director of Publisher Sales for Advertising.com in Baltimore.  When her youngest child, Ben, was born Annie “retired” to raise her kids. In addition to PTA and substitute teaching, she serves on the following boards/committees:

  • Girl Scout Troop 120 Co-Leader
  • Membership Chair – Forest Hill Swim & Tennis Club
  • National Alumni Association Board – Mount St. Mary’s University

Treasurer: Kim Keating

Kim Keating and her family have been living in Ellicott City since 2010 and feel lucky to be a part of the HSES community.  Kim quickly realized one of the best ways to support her son (Charlie – 4th grade) at school was to become active in the PTA.  She started out by becoming a member, then for a year was our PTACHC representative (a great way to get informed), and is now in her second year as our treasurer.  Kim has a BS in Biology from the University of Mary Washington and in a former life worked as a scientist in biotechnology before becoming a stay at home mom and assistant trainer at a local horse farm.
